Recipe: Rosemary Rubbed Turkey

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but here is the first of a few recipes for the next time you cook an invasive turkey

Ingredients (prepares rub for a 20lb turkey)

3/4 cups butter, softened
6 tbsp minced garlic
4 tbsp rosemary (fresh or dried)
2 tbsp basil (fresh or dried)
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp black pepper
Pinch of salt

Ingredients for rosemary rub

Directions

1.  In medium bowl, thoroughly mix all ingredients

2.  Gently loosen turkey skin

3.  Rub butter/spice mixture over and under turkey skin

4.  Use several toothpicks to seal skin over breast meat

5.  Cook turkey in turkey bag at 325 F for 5-6 hours or until meat thermometer indicates an internal temperature of 180 F

This turkey is rubbed and ready for the oven!
